Welcome

Throughout our lives we face many positive and negative challenges; at times these can exceed our ability to problem-solve and cope, even with the assistance of family, friends, and colleagues. These are the times when seeking professional assistance from a licensed psychologist can be immensely helpful. I have over 30 years of experience treating teenagers, adults, and the elderly in the Kitchener Waterloo area.

Services

I provide short-term individual counseling, psychotherapy, and consultation to adolescents over the age of 16, adults, and the elderly. Whether you are experiencing emotional, health, work, school, or relationship problems I will work with you to establish the focus and goals of treatment. If you wish to improve your coping skills, make changes in your life, become more resilient, or alter your thoughts and behaviours, I will address your issues without judgment and in a compassionate manner. Counselling can be provided in person, by telephone or through an online video therapy platform.

Also, as a school psychologist, I provide psycho-educational assessments to children aged seven and older who are struggling with delayed development, anxiety, learning and/or attentional difficulties (unfortunately, I do not assess autism in my practice).

About

I am registered with the College of Psychologists of Ontario in the areas of clinical/counseling, school, health, and rehabilitation psychology. I employ a variety of short-term treatment strategies to treat individuals, including cognitive behavioural therapy, mindfulness and acceptance therapy, and solution-focused therapy (I do not provide couple or family therapy). Treatment is individually developed based on the issues to be addressed, including treatment recommendations from the most recent psychological research.
