Dr. McHugh is a Clinical, Health, and School Psychologist with over 30 years of experience. She provides individual therapy to older adolescents, adults, and seniors facing a range of mental health and life challenges, with experience across hospital, school, and private practice settings. Dr. McHugh has also supervised and trained doctoral-level clinical psychology students as adjunct faculty at the University of Waterloo She has particular expertise in terminal illness, grief and loss, and infertility-related concerns. Her short-term, evidence-based treatment approach draws on Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Solution-Focused Therapy, and mindfulness-based interventions, with treatment tailored to enhance coping, build resilience, and support meaningful change. Dr. McHugh does not provide psychological assessments or couple or family therapy.
